FACILITATOR AND WORKSHOP DEVELOMENT

A creator and facilitator of conversations, workshops and processes to assist in getting to the next step along a path. Sometimes that involves identifying the path.  The path may be personal or organizational. The facilitation may be a  specifically structured workshop or protected space for brainstorming sessions that need to be kept on track.

It is often important to have someone that is not too personally invested in the outcome take the lead in a room to assist in recognizing and acknowledging all that is being shared when working towards a goal.

Conscious Abiding

A crisis is a dramatic or emotional time in our lives that often mark where life abruptly changes in happy or sad ways.  Conscious abiding is about being there, for you or for a friend or family member.

I had a Chaplaincy supervisor guide me to this understanding when I was struggling with what a chaplain is or does in a not strictly religious context.  And then it was clear, this is what I offer “Conscious  Abiding.”  Being there, listening, offering words of comfort or support, in the form of prayer, or poetry, song or sometimes just quiet. Present for both sadness and celebration.

Meddling and matchmaking

Just like caring folks should – Offering opinion – not promises. Take them, leave them, I won’t take it personally. I am NOT a therapist, and I should not replace a therapist.  The good ones are amazing and worth every penny.  But sometimes we need a friend that isn't around or a nudge, or a pat on the back or someone that knows someone.   A little conversation, a little coffee, some matchmaking here and there.

Matchmaking is a "personal touch" service, not an algorithm or formula.  Connections are only set up if we all feel it is the right thing to do.
